This Privacy Policy explains how the Rigfolio iOS and iPadOS app handles information. It applies to app version 1.0 and the related support pages.
1. Information you choose to save
Rigfolio can store rig titles, species, water type, owner-entered place labels, components, conditions, notes, tags, photos, variants, favorites, session dates, catches, bites, misses, confidence, changes, and outcome notes.
This content is stored locally in the app’s private container. Rig photos are stored locally as app files. Rigfolio does not require a user account and does not collect GPS location, contacts, microphone recordings, live weather, map history, or social connections.
2. Optional private iCloud sync
Premium users can choose to sync a compact structured copy of rig and session data through Apple’s private iCloud key-value store associated with their Apple Account. Rig photos themselves are not uploaded by this feature in version 1.0; only their local references may appear in the structured record.
iCloud is off by default. Apple handles iCloud data under its own terms and privacy policy. Availability can depend on your Apple Account, device settings, network, and Apple services.
3. Analytics
When configured in a distributed build, Rigfolio may use Mixpanel for product analytics. Analytics events include the app name “Rigfolio”, screen or feature source, selected plan identifier, aggregate item counts, and success/failure state.
Rigfolio filters analytics property names that could contain photos, images, notes, email, location, place, address, or names. It does not intentionally send rig titles, species notes, photo contents, place labels, exact locations, exported files, or user-entered fishing content to Mixpanel.
These providers may process pseudonymous device or app-install information, timestamps, app version, operating-system information, network-derived information, and technical errors under their own agreements and privacy practices. Rigfolio does not use the advertising identifier and does not use analytics for targeted advertising.
4. Purchases
Apple processes subscriptions, free trials, offer-code redemption, transaction verification, refunds, and subscription management through StoreKit and the App Store. Rigfolio receives product identifiers and entitlement status, not your full payment-card details or Apple Account password.
5. Photos, exports, and support
The Apple photo picker lets you choose images without giving Rigfolio broad access to your full photo library. Photos you select become part of the local rig record.
When you deliberately export PDF or CSV data or use the system share sheet, the destination person, app, or service handles that copy under its own policies. If you contact support, we receive what you send, such as your email address and message. Please do not send exact fishing locations, passwords, payment information, or verification codes.
6. Retention, deletion, and security
Local content remains until you delete a rig, reset your data, or remove the app. You can turn iCloud sync off in Settings; deleting local data may not remove copies you previously exported or shared. Apple, Mixpanel, and support systems retain limited records according to their configurations, legal obligations, fraud-prevention needs, and service terms.
No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure. We use platform protections and limit the data the app sends, but cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children, changes, and contact
Rigfolio is not directed to children and does not ask for age or knowingly collect children’s personal information. Fishing activity should always follow local laws and appropriate adult supervision and safety practices.
We may update this policy when features or providers change. The posted date identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page when appropriate.
